Eligibility Criteria for HVF Avadi Junior Technician Notification 2026

Educational Qualification

Essential: Matriculation / 10th Class Pass.

Technical:National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) OR National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade issued by NCVT.

Note: Candidates with Apprenticeship (NAC) are often given preference in HVF recruitments.

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 35 years for General/EWS candidates.

Age Relaxation:

SC/ST: +5 years
OBC (NCL): +3 years
PwBD: +10 years (additional relaxation for SC/ST/OBC)
Ex-Servicemen: As per rules (max 55 years)
Ex-Apprentice: Relaxation equal to training period
Experience-based: Up to 7 years (1 year per completed year of relevant post-qualification experience)

Salary Range

Basic Pay: ₹21,000
DA (Dearness Allowance): As applicable to Central Govt employees.
HRA (House Rent Allowance): As applicable for Class 'X/Y/Z' cities.
Other Benefits: EPF, Medical facilities (for self), and Leave benefits as per AVNL rules.

Selection Process

Priority 1: Ex-Trade Apprentices of HVF (Heavy Vehicles Factory).
Priority 2: Ex-Trade Apprentices of Erstwhile OFB (Ordnance Factory Board).
Priority 3: Other Candidates (Open Market NTC/NAC holders).

Detailed Shortlisting Logic:

Candidate Category	Basis of Shortlisting (Merit)
1. HVF Ex-Apprentices	Based on Month/Year of Passing NAC. If passing month is same, then NAC Marks (out of 400) will be considered.
2. OFB Ex-Apprentices	Based on Month/Year of Passing NAC. If passing month is same, then NAC Marks (out of 400) will be considered.
3. Other NTC/NAC Holders	Based on Marks obtained in Final NTC/NAC Exam. (Note: If a candidate has both NTC & NAC, only NTC Marks* are used).*
4. Non-ITI Holders(10th + Exp)	Based on Number of Years of Relevant Experience. If experience is same, 10th Class Marks will decide the rank.

Phase 2: Trade Test

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a practical Trade Test.
Nature: The Trade Test is Qualifying Only (FIT / UNFIT). It does not carry marks for the final merit list.
